The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
